Object description

Built in 1789 and rebuilt in 1882. On October 16, 1883,almost newly built church could be consecrated.
1883 The neo-Gothic altar of the Bārbele Church built in 1941 is one of the most peculiar examples of sacred art in Latvian Lutheran churches. The altar, decorated with the altarpiece “Christ on the Cross” by the Berlin artist Professor Locillot de Mars in 1872, is a national art monument.
