James day celebration

Throughout the year of 2024, members of the Latvian St Jame`s Way Association (Camino Latvia) promoted the created way of 562 kilometers across Latvia. We told residents about the process of setting it up in 5 years, about markings, accommodation, adventures and safety on the road, encouraging everyone to start their way from the doorstep of their home. We explained the nature and overall concept of the St. Jame’s (Santiago) Way. We organized many storytelling evenings. Our traveling exhibition with extensive photographic material was exhibited in several Latvian libraries and tourist information centers. We gave interviews on Latvijas Radio and national Television. By all this we get to our main grandiose event this year – celebrating James day to Camino.
On July 27, as part of the event “One day in Latvia as every day in Spain”, pilgrims in all 24 stages of Camino Latvia walked out on the road at the same time, held a Service and set off. We are grateful to the tourist information centers involved in organizing this event. Volunteers who did an incredible job organizing the event and leading the groups. Everyone who walked with us on this festive day. We hope and believe CAMINO will stay in your hearts. Your walks will be longer and longer of the St Jame’s (Santiago) way.
