Camino Latvia – Camino Lituano
You can only fall in love with what you have come to know.
That’s why the Camino Latvia volunteer team, together with the Velokurjers support crew, spent 10 wonderful days exploring and getting to know the Camino Lituano route along its entire length—from the Estonian to the Polish border.
Together, we completed 22 stages and covered 555 km on electric bikes, staying in pilgrim accommodations along the way. As is typical for pilgrimages, the lodging varied. We spent the night in the upper floor of a barn where the wind whistled through the boards, in museum buildings, and even in hotels with white sheets. But regardless of the conditions, we were welcomed everywhere and received an abundance of kindness and love.
We enjoyed Lithuania’s blossoming nature, its culture, and of course, the local cuisine—cold beet soup and cepelinai. We experienced all kinds of weather and terrain. We battled relentless headwinds, scraped mud off our tires when it blocked the wheels, and carried our bikes across rivers. All of this was made possible only through excellent teamwork.
Thank you, Camino Lituano https://caminolituano.com/, for a beautifully created and well-marked route! Buen Camino!
